On the Road Again

Porscha has encountered snow and lots of it in Southern California but here in Michigan we are experiencing balmy weather. The thermometer reached into the 50's on Saturday and went past 60 Sunday. This type of sunny weather can not be ignored in Michigan and, thus, we headed outside for some sun and exercise. Cynthia and I (Sally L.C. Doucette) walked over 10 miles into Ann Arbor from Dexter on Saturday. It was a great walk and we enjoyed the time together.

Unfortunately, Cynthia's ankle started to hurt when we were still 3 miles from our goal. At Hancock Fabrics we refresh ourselves and taped up her ankle. Last weekend, her ankle hurt but she contributed it to sitting on it funny in the back of an overpacked car. (That's a whole different story.) With it hurting two weekends in a row I think we should have it checked out.

Today, Cynthia spent some time with her friends while I aired off my bicycle. (A Fuji 12-speed, 1980's circa. It needs some cleaning but is in great condition.) Since it has a great paved shoulder for bikes, I took the same path that Cynthia and I had walked. The hills take some getting used to but I enjoyed the ride. Flying down Summit Street in AA with the wind in my face and my hair sifted about brought back memories of riding in my youth. It wasn't until my ride had just a mile to go that I realized I was sans my helmet. This and the thought of how sore my butt will be tomorrow prompted me to call Greg for a ride on his way home from football.
