Years and years ago, I built a dollhouse for Cynthia. Since then, she has played with it, outgrown it and moved on. Like most abandoned houses it has fallen into disrepair. This week, I started the renovation process. Most of the windows need reworking, shingles are missing and broken, trim is loose, the carpet is dirty, wallpaper torn, etc. I have removed all loose or damaged windows and bought basswood sheets to cut new window frames to replace missing one. The plan is to redo the windows, sand, side and repaint the exterior, clean and remodel the inside, trying to keep the original details that are still cleanable and in good repair. The plain foundation will be painted to look like fieldstone.
