pain near the neck
Physical therapy was recommended for my shoulder in April of this year, without x-ray, mri or specialist referral... as per insurance guidelines. My pain has continued and mobility in my right arm and shoulder lessened. Finally, I was sent to see an orthopedic specialist who ordered x-rays, an mri and diagnosed me with a "frozen shoulder". After a shoulder injury scar tissue and lesions accumulate and work as an adhesive holding the tendons together. The solution? Physical therapy and shoulder manipulation while under anesthesia. Unfortunately, my benefits were used up by the "first episode". Now, the doctors, physical therapist and I are working to cut through the red tape and appeal to the insurance company. Until they do things are on hold.

I'm sorry that you are having such a hard time with insurance mom. I hope that they come around... just another example of how broken that system is here in the US.
