physical therapy, infrared light, massage, stretching....

It has been months & months & months..., since April. One swift, long pull of gaffer's tape off the dirty floor of the Mendelssohn Theatre (Ann Arbor) and my shoulder burned. Instruments, music stands, speakers and consoles were hectically being pushed in all directions across the stage as we, electricians, tried to strip the pipes of lights. Due to the activity on stage, we were unable to bring the lights in as much as usual. I reached for a "Source 4" and sharp, hot pain traveled from my shoulder and through my arm. My shoulder was injured once before and healed itself within a couple months. Not so this time. I have turned down tens of thousands of dollars in work, wake several times each night with pain in my shoulder and bursae down my arm and into my hand.
After all this pain and suffering, doctors, drugs and months of physical therapy, I am finally making progress. The second round of physical therapy helps, as does the time consuming stretching but my recent, encouraging progress seems to be coming from "experimental" treatments with RIFF light treatments. Of course, insurance doesn't pay for the light treatments and the stretching and p.t. are very helpful in my advances but I wasn't making these leaps forward until I started the RIFF treatments.
Monday, I will take my fourth treatment... Keep your fingers crossed for me.
